Top Flight Contracting installs two shingle manufacturers and one siding manufacturer, and we hold manufacturer credentials with all three: CertainTeed ShingleMaster, AtlasPRO+ Diamond Level and Atlas Certified Contractor, and James Hardie Alliance Contractor. That is why every job we run qualifies for extended coverage that an uncredentialed installer cannot register.
Manufacturer coverage handles the product. Our guarantee handles the installation. Top Flight Contracting backs every job with a 5-year workmanship guarantee covering installation defects, and it applies regardless of which manufacturer you choose, on roofing and on siding alike. If something we installed fails because of how we installed it, we come back and make it right.
Our 5-year workmanship guarantee covers defects in our installation. Storm damage, work by other trades, and manufacturer defects are handled separately, through your insurance or the manufacturer warranty. Full terms are in your contract. On qualifying Atlas systems, Signature Select Workmanship Pro 25 extends workmanship coverage to 25 years, backed by Atlas.
Both manufacturers gate their best coverage behind a contractor credential, and we hold credentials with both. The two programs are built differently, so the table below sets them next to each other rather than picking a winner.

CertainTeed figures above are read from CertainTeed's own SureStart and SureStart PLUS coverage charts. Atlas figures are read from the Signature Select tier chart on our Atlas Diamond Level roofing page, which reproduces Atlas's published chart. Coverage periods, qualifying products and settlement terms are set by the manufacturer and by the warranty document issued for your roof.
James Hardie fiber cement carries a 30-year limited product warranty on the board itself, covering rot, cracking and major defects. ColorPlus Technology finishes carry a separate 15-year finish warranty against chipping, peeling and cracking. As a James Hardie Alliance Contractor we install to Hardie specification, and our own 5-year workmanship guarantee sits on top of both. Both manufacturers require the full system and a registration filed after the install. Coverage that is never registered is coverage you do not have, so we handle the filing on every job.
Both manufacturers write their top coverage against a complete system, not against shingles alone. Underlayment, ice and water barrier, starter, hip and ridge and ventilation all have to be the manufacturer's own components for the warranty to be registrable.
Atlas requires registration within 60 days with proof of purchase for all system components. We handle the filing on both brands, so you are not chasing a form or hunting down a component receipt after the crew has gone.
The registration confirmation comes back in your name, and we hand it to you. Keep it with your closing documents. It is the piece a buyer's agent asks for when you sell the house.
CertainTeed does not publish a registration deadline on its credentialing page, so we file yours as soon as the job closes out rather than working to a stated window.
A manufacturer warranty covers the product itself, meaning defects in how the shingle or the siding was made. A workmanship warranty covers the installation. Both matter, because a perfect shingle installed wrong still leaks. Your roof carries a manufacturer warranty from CertainTeed or Atlas and a 5-year workmanship guarantee from us.
Neither one wins on paper. Both top tiers are strong, and they are built differently rather than ranked, so the better fit depends on the roof, the product line and what you care about most. We lay both out side by side for your specific roof and let you pick. There is no default here.
Usually yes, though the terms and the window differ by manufacturer and by coverage level. Transfer terms are set in the warranty document issued for your roof, not by us, so read that document before you list the house. Call us and we will walk you through what yours says.
We do, on every job and for both manufacturers. Registration is what turns the coverage you were quoted into coverage you actually hold, and it has a deadline. Atlas wants it inside 60 days with proof of purchase for all components. You get the confirmation once it clears.
The common ones are mixing in another manufacturer's components, inadequate attic ventilation, installing over an existing roof, later work by someone else, and never registering the coverage. Storm damage is not a defect, so hail and wind claims go to your insurer rather than to the manufacturer.
